Ambition

This is the page where I will list all of my goals and dreams. Partly for the world to see, but mostly so I can come here and be reminded of why I wake up in the morning.

I want to open a restaurant, possibly even a chain someday.
I want to finish my novel and get it published.
I want to get into real estate, maybe some hotels and condos like Donald Trump.
I want to design EVERYTHING (jewelry, clothes, furniture, dishes, home decor, etc.)
I want to be famous.
I want to live a comfortable life.
I want to be able to stop struggling.
I want to be able to take care of my family, buy my mom and brothers nice things.
I want to build an empire to leave to my children, so they will always be okay.
I want to travel the world.
I want to be loved.
I want to be adored.
I want my family and friends to be proud of me.
I want to be proud of myself.
I just wanna be, I just wanna be, SUCCESSFUL!

My Idols and people who inspire me:

1.) My mother, Who is my best friend in the whole wide world, and probably the strongest woman I will ever know.

2.) My friend Yvette Wright-Harris, who has shown me over the years what it really means to be strong and independent, and even though we have had issues and haven’t spoken in a while, I know we will be okay because we have a love that strong. She is the epitome of a Strong Black Woman.

3.) My friend Marie, who, even though I haven’t known that long, has taught me that it IS okay to be who you are, whether people like it or lump it. She has been my only stable emotional support for the past few months, and I LOVE AND TREASURE HER DEARLY.

4.) My youngest brother Marshall, who has been through SO much in his young life, things that no one deserves to have to deal with, and yet remains such a remarkable young man, always a smile, always a hand to lend. There is a light inside of him that rivals the sun, and he is the main reason that I work so hard, the reason that I put myself out there for the world to use and step on, the reason that even though I keep failing, I get right back up and keep trying. He is my HEART AND SOUL.

5.)Janet Jackson, a phenomenal performer, a phenomenal woman. She went against her own fathers wishes to follow her own heart, her own sound, her own beat. And it paid off. So many people do what other people tell them to, and she has shown us that you can rely on your own mind, use your own creativity and still become successful.

6.)Barack Obama, our Commander in Chief, a man who has faced ridicule and adversity every step of his career, but kept his eye on the prize and is now the most powerful man in world politics. I am PROUD to have voted for him, and he makes me PROUD to be an American.

7.) Oprah Winfrey, ENOUGH SAID! lol

8.) RuPaul, a lady that blazes trails everywhere she goes, a trendsetter and a pioneer. She made it okay to be gay in America, and, by placing herself in the center of gossip, hate and ridicule and overcoming it by staying true to herself, has become the most famous person in LGBT history. Keep Letting ‘Em Have It Bitch!!!

9.) Maurice Jamal, a brilliant screen writer who has given a voice to gay men in television.

10.) Ellen Degenerous, just FUN and FUNNY as hell!!!

11.) B. Scott, a beautiful spirit who although through a different medium (Internet) is also giving a new voice to gay men of America, and teaching us to be proud of who we are. WWW.LOVEBSCOTT.COM DOUBLE KISSES!

12.) Rachel Ray, a woman who is taking both the cooking and television world by storm. A magazine, several cooking shows, a talk show, book after book after book! You just gotta admire THAT ambition… a white, cooking Oprah?

13.) E. Lynn Harris (R.I.P.), A proud, unique gay man who gave gay men around the world novels with relatable characters and plots. In my opinion, he is a literary GENIUS who both entertained and enlightened people, and he is dearly missed. He taught me that it was okay to be gay and a novelist. I can utilize my own voice in writing, and write about people, places and things that were relevant to me and my life, and when I finish my novel, it will be dedicated to him.

I guess thats all I can think of for right now.
